Self-Examination
Galatians 6:4 New English Translation (NET)

Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else.
I believe that one of the most difficult things a child of God has to deal with in his/her daily spiritual walk is comparison.
Let me first say that I am talking about someone who is actively trying to pursue God. I am not referring to those who try to know the bare minimum about the Word of God and His desires in their lives. There is a great distinction.

Your Measure Of Worth…
We are so often caught in the trap of gaining our worth from the opinions of others. As children we all have experiences that effect our lives and relationships for years to come. I had one incident that haunted me until I finally realized its impact a few years ago.

Introspection On The Word
It can be wonderful, a little surprising, and somewhat unsettling when the Word of God hits home. It can drive someone to their knees and bring tears to their eyes and sometimes (maybe it’s rare) it can physically unsettle a person.
I almost always have a reaction to the Word.View comments

Toothache > Love
This one is comin’ atcha from my phone…it’s gonna be short if not sweet.I heard alot of talk about Sigmond Freud in college. I have to admit that most of it sounded a little crazy to me. I don’t believe that sexuality is at the root of everything. Though for some people it is.
He has been quoted as saying that “It is impossible for a man to have a toothache and be in love.” This makes sense in a very simple way. If you have ever had a toothache or the flu (of which I am currently suffering) etc. this will start to seem possible.Let me say that I haven’t lost any love in the throws of the flu, but it sure clouds everything! Sometimes pain easily overruns our temporary “loves” but, in the midst of trials, our True Loves take on a different feel.

New Religion

I don’t have nearly the time that I need to do this subject justice, but here it is.
We are living in a constantly changing world. I read a quote years ago that said the only thing that stays the same is change is inevitable. And there is the old famous quote that says the only sure things are death and taxes! Everything around us is in a constant flux. How do we handle that in a God-centered life?
Hebrews chapter 13 says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.” while the world says that the only way to get people to relate to God is to find a progressive way to reach the hungry. We are in a furious search to find a flashy way to spread the Gospel in spite of the clear Biblical instruction and information about God being an unchanging God (e.g. There is no shadow of turning with Him.).
We often fail to remember the basic scripture that says that no man will come to God except the Spirit draw him. What does that mean? That if we find a flashy enough way to package the Gospel that suddenlyComment count: 1View comments
